Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I feel not-so-good telling you that I have never watched Star Wars franchise even after all the fuss. I watched the first movie of this series which made me realize why the fans had always loved this franchise. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also known as Star Wars: Episode VIII is a 2017 American epic space opera film. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens. The movie takes place right after the events of the first film and is just as intense, with many actions, explosions, space chases, and close-up duels.

The Last Jedi film moves in an interesting range of grays, sacrificing part of the ingenuity and regal values of yesteryear for the despair and bitterness of the times. With tons of action and fight scenes, intense moments, plot twists galore, several people die in battle, in some cases sacrificing themselves for their mission.

In this film, Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Luke Skywalker’s peaceful and solitary existence gets upended when he encounters Rey, a young woman who shows strong signs of the Force. Her wish to learn the ways of the Jedi forces Luke to make a decision that changes their lives forever. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares to do battle with the First Order. Kylo Ren and General Hux lead the First Order in an all-out assault against Leia and the Resistance for supremacy of the galaxy.

Director Rian Johnson delivers a funny, emotional, suspenseful middle-of-the-trilogy installment that elevates fans’ beloved heroes, moves the story forward, and will delight fans. The battle scenes were epic, it had me on the edge of my seat. There was almost never a dull moment in this film. Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher aka Leia passed away last year and the film is dedicated to her.

  1. I do admire your observation of the moral conflict prevalent in this movie- how there is a less clear cut distinction between the good guys and the bad. it is challenging if you are of the worldview that there is a clear distinction between good and evil as this movie heavily promotes the concept of duality or good and evil being mingled with each other. this is why we have God to guide our consciences to help us discern the difference between them both. 🙂

  2. I want to see you dressed like rai please <3 there is also a tv series that is animated. and plenty of books that have not been turned into movies. some of them never will. there are far too many. the technology has improved since the first movie a new hope came out which weirdly was episode four because they did not have the technology to make episodes one to three at the time. I do not know who wrote the books originally or who came up with the concept. George lucas was the original movie maker. he had help from industrial sound light and magic who are famous for creating the muppets and sesame street among other creations. were you also sad to see the funny Asian girl die? I love her. she is quirky and sassy and not afraid to tell the boys off but she is also sweeter than rai. rai is a bit of a bossy boots . but she has had a hard life. <3 the interesting game to play when watching these movies is what freaky alien mash ups of real life earth creatures will they come up with next. it is good that this is your introduction to star wars cos for those of us who grew up watching it we may find it tedious to watch continual flash backs to past movies. I do want to know if you could be any of the characters in the movie who you would choose and why. also I think you would look cute in an ewok or jawa outfit <3 or with them printed on your pjs 🙂

  3. I was very disappointed in the last few episodes. But they might have corrected the direction the series had been taking with this one. So thanks for the update, will check it out.
