Everything is possible when you are watching a comedy film in the theatre. This Pulkit Samrat and Richa Chadha’s starrer film Fukrey Returns is the sequel to the Fukrey film which came in the year 2013. At the end of the prequel, it was predicted that the makers of the film would come with a sequel.
The film star cast is same with Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Priya Anand, Vishakha Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Ishteyak Khan as the co-stars of this movie. Fukrey is about a group of four Delhi guys who fall afoul of a foul-mouthed female gangster, Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadda). Pulkit Samrat is the same old confident Hunny,
Varun Sharma is the politely dumb Chucha, Manjot Singh is a desperate business-boy Lali and Ali Fazal is Zafar Bhai, the wisest and odd of them all. Pankaj Tripathi played the role of witty Pandit Ji who remains to swear by the notion of ‘jugaad’. In Fukrey Returns, Bholi Punjaban (Richa Chadda) is out of the jail to make life difficult for these feckless fellows who conned her in the previous film.
The film was shot in limited locations and budget, but the film’s writer did a commendable job with some hilarious shots. Though in some shots, you will feel bored and nostalgic with the characters doing same things again as in the first film. Varun Sharma as Chu Cha, Richa Chadha as Bholi Punjaban did a hilarious job and they were the only reason to keep us captivated in this two and a half hour film. The two heroines and Ali Fazal have barely anything to do with the story. Apart from them, you will get to see a snake, a captive tigress and her cub, dirty politics, a money-laundering racket, a bigger scam in this film.
Not that Fukrey was the greatest comedy ever made, but it was fresh and required, after comedy films like Hera Pheri and Welcome. You will find yourself laughing and giggling while watching this film, so you must not miss it.
